Project:
Refurbishment of Borough Grange warden controlled sheltered housing
scheme.
The
project consisted of the complete refurbishment and upgrading of 43
bedsits and flats to 30 self-contained one-bedroom flats. This was
achieved by integrating two flats into one. The complete renewal of
the Electrical & Mechanical installation, Warden Call System,
entry phone and fire alarm.
The
works were phased over four phases and whilst some residents moved
off-site, 50% remained in occupation.
The
residents were temporarily re-accommodated within Borough Grange and
then moved back to their original properties on completion of each
phase.
The
works also included the construction of a lift shaft and installation
of a passenger lift and the construction of a conservatory to the
rear and the refurbishment of all communal internal and external areas.
